How to install TWRP Recovery on OnePlus 5 and Root One Plus 5?(Lineage Custom ROM)

The Oneplus 5 is the latest android smartpone launched by Oneplus recently as a flagship killer sporting 16-megapixel rear camera with PDAF, an f/1.7 aperture and dual-tone LED flash with EIS and OIS. It has a superb powerful Soc snapdragon 835 processor with 3300mAh battery capacity.

Requirements:

This method is for Oneplus 5 only. Don't try it on any other device. Battery should be at least 70-80% charged.

How to install Oneplus 5 TWRP Recovery

Step1- At first you have to download Fastboot/ADB package from the following links depending on your Operating System and just extract it anywhere in your PC.

Windows- Download Here
Linux- Download Here
Mac OS- Download Here

Step 2- Switch off your phone.

Step 3- Connect your Oneplus 5 to your computer via USB cable.

Step 4- Rename the downloaded TWRP as mentioned above to download to twrp.img and save it into the same directory as the extracted Fastboot/ADB package files.

Step 5- Now go into Fastboot/Bootloader Mode on Oneplus 5 by the following steps-[Press Volume Up + Power keys for a few seconds till you see some text on the screen.]

Step 6- Now as you have entered the bootloader, navigate to the directory now as where you have fastboot (i.e. step 1) and on Windows: Open Command Prompt (shift + Right-click> Open Command Prompt). For Mac OS X and Linux, use Terminal for navigating to this directory.

Step 7- Type in the following command and press enter on the device's screen.

" fastboot flash recovery twrp.img "

Step 8- As you have entered in Recovery Mode (TWRP recovery) now. Turn OFF your device. Now you have press and hold the Volume Down+ Power keys together until the OnePlus logo shows up. Once it does, release the power button while still holding the Volume Down button until a screen of twrp shown.

Now install super-su.zip from twrp recovery. Now you have successfully updated your OnePlus 5 to latest TWRP 3.0.3
